In order to further enhance the supervision on the quality of products for the epidemic prevention, and regulate the export order, a new rule has carried out to regulate the export of medical/ non-medical face mask from 24th, April 2020

Regarding non-medical face mask, it must comply with a Chinese standard or foreign standard. So, the manufacturer must show specific standard on its qualified certificate, inner box. And a joint declaration of the exporter and the importer must be signed to declare that the exporter and the importer must confirm that the face masks are compliant with the quality standards of China/ quality standards of foreign country and the quality standards stipulated between the parties. The importer shall guarantee the product quality standards stipulated are compliant with the quality requirements of the importing country/region and shall confirm it has accepted the quality standards of the above products.

The importer shall commit to strictly abide by the agreement and not use the face masks it purchases for medical purposes and to warn any third party against using the face masks for medical purposes. The exporter or the producer is not liable for any losses caused by the inappropriate use, maintenance or keeping of the face masks by the importer or any third party.

This will eliminate those who produce unqualified face mask and make sure the non-medical face mask really protects the people who need them. This is good for the industry and for the world in the long run.
